Treating the Opioid Epidemic with Alternative Medicine

In 2017 there were 93.7 Million prescriptions of hydrocodone prescribed. Accounting for all the brand names including generics, brand names and combination medications.

This amount of prescribing has made the United States accountable for 99% of the worlds consumption of its use.

Clearly we are on a medication overload especially when it comes to opioids. And with the overload we have seen a massive epidemic arise from its use.

So we must ask our selves what went wrong and what can we do?

We must admit there other ways of treating pain then just with this pill. We must admit that it often isn’t solving the true problem of pain. Yes, there are times that these can help people but we definitely have gone way to far.

Pain manifest in many ways. However it may stem from many reasons both physically related or not. We must look into why we actually have pain and not just always mask it with a highly addictive and toxic pill.

So what can we do?

We must look into alternative methods to treat pain. Often this takes correcting the root cause of pain. So here’s a list of some of the alternative ways to help heal our pains mind, body and spirit:
